The Tampa's Gasparilla Marathon & Half Marathon courses are designed to be "spectator friendly."
The marathon course brings runners through the Finish Line area at mile 6.5 and 10.5. For the half marathon course, spectators can walk one-tenth of a mile to see the runners as they come off of Davis Islands and head down Bayshore Boulevard for the out and back portion of the half marathon.
Or for the folks that want to greet their family members and friends along the marathon course, you can ride the free bus to two on-course stations. The bus will leave the downtown Tampa Pick-Up/Drop-Off Location (Tampa Convention Center– at Franklin Street Entrance– see #3 on Marathon Location Map) and will run continuously from 7:00am – Noon making stops at two drop-off locations every 15 minutes and returning downtown every 30 minutes.
